1) Mobile Recording.
Most mobile phones and tablets are equipped with an on-board microphone, but the audio from that microphone isn’t always the best quality. By adding the Audio Technica AT2005 microphone, you’ll be able to record high quality audio with your mobile phone or tablet.
2) Portable Recording.
If you're looking for a portable recorder but don’t want to use your mobile device, the Roland is a perfect option. This hand held device has an SD card that stores your tracks and can easily be uploaded into your computer. The Roland is my personal favorite, affordable, high quality recorder.
The Zoom H5 is another portable recorder. This recorder gives you a little higher quality sound than the Roland. It also has the capability to plug another microphone directly into the recorder for two hosts or recording an in-person conversation with another person.
3) Home/Studio Recording With A Mixer.
You'll want to use a mixer if you plan to record at home with multiple people or with phone conversations. There are many mixer options but the Behringer is the most affordable and has the capability to record from multiple mics. You will need to purchase a recorder and mics to go along with your mixer, the above choices all work well with this mixer. You can plug two microphones into the mixer, plug in your computer for Skype or your phone and your Roland to record the audio into the Behringer mixer.
